The Clase Premier Experience
Seat TypeStaggered Lie-flat
Layout1-2-1
Bed Length74 inches
Screen16-inch
Aeromexico's Clase Premier delivers a genuinely competitive long-haul product on its Boeing 787 Dreamliner fleet, with fully lie-flat seating and direct aisle access that rivals many international carriers at a often more accessible price point. However, the experience is inconsistent — Clase Premier on the Boeing 737 fleet (used on many US-Mexico and regional routes) is a recliner seat, not lie-flat, so route and aircraft selection matters enormously. For travelers flying between the US and Mexico City, Guadalajara, or connecting onward through SkyTeam's network, it's a strong value proposition, but red-eye and long-haul flyers should specifically confirm they're booked on 787 metal before expecting a flat bed.
Why Fly Aeromexico to Mexico City
- Fully lie-flat seats with direct aisle access on the Boeing 787 Dreamliner fleet used for long-haul international routes
- Salón Premier lounges at Mexico City International Airport (Terminal 2) offer strong regional food and tequila selections
- SkyTeam membership provides broad lounge and codeshare access when connecting through partner hubs like Paris-CDG or Amsterdam-Schiphol
- Generally competitive pricing compared to US and European carriers on Mexico–international routes
Dining & Service
On the Boeing 787-8 and 787-9, Clase Premier passengers get fully lie-flat seats with direct aisle access, personal storage, and seatback entertainment screens loaded with a mix of Hollywood, Mexican, and international film and TV content. Dining leans into Mexican culinary identity, with multi-course service on long-haul international sectors typically including regional dishes alongside more classic international business-class fare, paired with a curated wine list. Cabin crew service is warm and attentive, generally reflecting Mexican hospitality norms, with amenity kits and bedding provided on longer overnight international routes. On the 737 MAX and 737-800 fleet used for shorter international and domestic routes, the experience is considerably more basic: a recliner-style seat in a 2-2 configuration, complementary meal or snack service, and no lie-flat bed, more comparable to a premium economy or domestic first product on US carriers.
Lounge Access
Salon Premier
Full-service lounges at MEX T2 featuring Mexican cuisine, premium bar, and spa services. Partner lounges at US gateways.
