The onboard experience varies significantly by aircraft type, which is the single most important factor in evaluating this product. On the Airbus A350-900 and select refurbished Boeing 777-300ERs, travelers get a 1-2-1 reverse-herringbone configuration with direct aisle access and a fully flat bed — a meaningful upgrade over the airline's older angled-flat seats still found on some 747-8 and 777-300ER frames. Dining includes a choice of Chinese and Western menus, with congee, dumplings, and regional Chinese dishes generally outperforming the Western options in quality and authenticity; wine selections are respectable but not a headline feature. Amenity kits are provided but are functional rather than designed-brand statements, and entertainment systems, while improved on newer aircraft, can feel dated on older jets with smaller screens and slower interfaces. Service is professional and attentive during meal service but tends to be more reserved and less proactive than what's found on Cathay Pacific or Singapore Airlines. Wifi availability is inconsistent fleet-wide and should not be relied upon for long-haul productivity.
